Terms of use
Last updated
These terms cover the Parlific app and the parlific.com website, both provided by TechSnack LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Parlific you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Parlific.
1. Apple's license agreement
If you downloaded Parlific from the App Store, your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, Apple's agreement applies to your use of the app.
2. Using Parlific
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Parlific and the packs you are entitled to for your own learning, on Apple devices you own or control. You must not:
- copy, resell or redistribute Parlific's packs, word lists or other content;
- bypass, or try to bypass, the checks that unlock paid packs;
- scrape, overload or interfere with cdn.parlific.com or the website;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction; or
- use Parlific in a way that breaks the law.
3. Purchases
Paid packs are one-time, non-consumable purchases made through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and sets the price in your currency. We may change prices for future purchases; this never affects packs you have already bought.
Packs you buy are tied to your Apple ID and can be shared through Apple Family Sharing. If you reinstall Parlific or change devices, use Restore Purchases in Settings to unlock them again.
Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Free trials
You can try each paid pack free for one day, once per pack per Apple ID. Trials are free and never convert into a charge. When a trial ends, the pack stays on your device but is locked until you buy it. Your bookmarks and progress are kept.
5. Our content
Parlific's packs, word lists, translations, notes, design, artwork, name and logo belong to TechSnack LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Buying a pack gives you the right to use it as described in these terms, not ownership of the content.
6. Your packs
Packs you create, and the words you add or scan, belong to you. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Keeping a backup is your responsibility; deleting the app deletes them.
7. Voices, translations and accuracy
Parlific uses voices, text recognition and translation built into iOS by Apple. We work to make our packs accurate, but speech, translations and scanned text can contain mistakes. Parlific is a study aid; it does not guarantee any level of fluency or the result of any exam.
8. Changes to Parlific
We may update Parlific, add or remove features, and add, revise or retire packs. A pack you have bought that is already downloaded stays on your device. If we retire a pack you bought, we will make reasonable efforts to keep it available for you to download again.
9. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Parlific and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that Parlific will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, TechSnack LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of Parlific. Our total liability for any claim relating to Parlific is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Parlific packs in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Parlific at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend access to our services if you break these terms. Sections 5, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after you stop using Parlific.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app. If you keep using Parlific after a change, the new terms apply.
